Thank you for visiting my website. I am an information professional, presently employed as a librarian at the Green Tree Public Library in Pittsburgh. I completed my Master's of Library and Information Science at the University of Pittsburgh in 2009. I graduated Magna cum Laude from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2005. My other academic achievements include receiving the Jay Daily award from the University of Pittsburgh in 2009. This award, granted for my efforts establishing a community service group, recognizes a graduate student who makes an "outstanding contribution" to the LIS program.

My employment / volunteer history includes a solid background of woking with nonprofits in educational and training capacities. In addition to several years of public library experience I have tutored and taught students (K-12) in several public school systems, tutored adult students in English as a Second Language and math, lead technology and computer classes for several organizations and served as a volunteer with AmeriCorps.

My experience and education leave me well prepared for a variety of careers in the information field. I have a high degree of technological literacy including knowledge of web design (HTML, CSS, Adobe Creative Suite), database management, Web 2.0 applications and most standard business software. I also have an advanced proficiency for finding information using the Internet, research databases and government websites.
